This rice post got me to wondering. My mom used to make what she called
"Chicken Almondine" but I am certain that she wasn't pronouncing it right.
She got the recipe from a church member at a potluck. I have seen recipes
online but not like hers. Hers was baked in the oven on a bed of rice and I
am pretty sure that it contained a can of some sort of soup.

The end result looked like it had brown rice, but I think she most likely
used a white rice that took on a beige color from the soup.

Anyone have a recipe like that?

Put one or two chickens in a pot. Add a 2 lb bag of organic, free range
amandines. Cover with water. Cook over medium heat for i hour, stirring
occasionally.

Anyways, here is the first link I found from "DuckDuckGo" for "Chiken
Amadine", because you said you were certain she was not pronouncing it
right and I applied some generic syllable shifts. The recipe seems to be
what you described.

I understand your concerns about Google, but I am fairly certain that
DuckDuckGo does not sell personalized data. They might very well sell
aggregate inferences, but this should be worth the added functionality of
using a search engine that won't be rude to you when you make a polite
request.

Thanks! That recipe does contain the things that I said, however this
casserole had no veggies in it. Just the chicken, almonds, rice and soup
AFAIK and it was all baked in the oven. Nothing was cooked ahead. I do use
that particular search engine from time to time and I will save the recipe.

There are tons of recipes online. I just gave up looking because I saw
nothing like what my mom made. I believe it was just chicken, rice, almonds
and soup although there may have been additional liquid added. IIRC, nothing
was cooked first. It was all put raw in the casserole and baked until done.

But that is not what I was looking for. Yes, the ingredients I mentioned are
in there but this used all raw ingredients, baked in the oven till cooked.

And yet... None of the recipes I saw were for the dish I described. Chicken,
rice, soup and almonds all baked in the oven. Nothing cooked first.
