Ok, that tracks. Sorry, but I don't read every message here.

I think whoever said they all vent outside (as in outide the house) are
wrong. I've never even noted an avtual vent inside the house. Just
leach heat disbursed.

Nope. Gas ranges do not have to be vented outdoors. None of mine ever
have.

Correct. It's grease build up in the attic related I think, if not
cleanly vented. No requirement to have a vent hood at all however.
