Are you aware that many poor people cannot get a landline, but use
inexpensive cell service instead?

3D printing allows small companies to design and build these kinds of things a lot cheaper and faster. It's going to decentralize the way we manufacture products. My guess is that many of the things we use will be custom built for the individual. Heck, I'd like to design and print my own cell phone or guitar.
