You're welcome! I really should look to see if I've got a pic of
grandma's kitchen. The first one. Metal cabinets with chrome-looking
accents.

I used to love the chrome and formica tables and chairs, especially yellow.

I love those old tables & chairs, too. I couldn't find a picture of the
kitchen but here's one of my mother when she was in her late teens/early
20's:

Very nice looking woman, and I also love to see those old styles, hairdos
etc.

My mother would blush. I say thank you. She was known as the "Betty
Grable" of her high school. Got legs? Yep!

The funny thing is people didn't realize short shorts were around
pre-WWII. Even in a small town in rural Ohio.

That sounds exactly like the kitchen set we used to have when I was a
kid, right down to the yellow. Wow, memories.

We had green and gray flecked formica, kind of a bowling alley table

Yes, us too. My MIL passed her red one on to us when we were first married, of
course I never appreciated it so well at the time.

Sounds like a great idea for making retro-looking guitars.

I am cleaning out my mother's house ATM. She is too ill to live at
home anymore.

She has a storage room with some old furniture including two of those
tables, one yellow and one green. There is also an old bedhead
straight from the 60's, glossy laminated wood with inserts of white
and gray marble look-alike laminate.

Would have been tres chic at the time.
