I have yet to go to this place, but a few years ago a couple who moved
to Dataw saw a little empty building on Lady's Island. They decided to
open a place called 'The Dog House'. I've heard people rave about their
hot dogs. They serve them every which way. They also serve grilled
bratwurst. Being from the north, they recently added lobster rolls to
their fare. Having moved to a major shrimping area, they also serve
shrimp burgers.

there's an internet rumor going around, that hotdogs aren't very healthy,
so moderation with them...?

i have to admit i had the best hotdog in my life,
when out camping once; it was cooked over an open fire
[i wonder what brand it was]

One time me and Bryan had some of the best hot dogs in the world on a little fla****er float we were on. Just he and I, and we stopped at a gravel bar to have lunch, and were trying to build a fire, and I was holding the valve open trying to get the fitre started, and I held the ligher too close/too long to the almost fire, and the heat softened the flint/flint wheel tabs on the lighter and the flint, spring, flint wheel came flying out and fell into the rocks of the gravel bar!! OMG!! And it was the only lighter we had!! We were then in danger of having to eat RAW HOT DOGS!!! Oh the humanity!! ;-)

But we found the flint, spring and flint wheel and I held them all together to make the lighter work one last time to finally get the fire started, so we DIDN'T have to eat RAW HOT DOGS!!! Best hot dogs we ever had too! :-)

I'm certain YOU never had any fun camping a la Huck Finn or otherwise. I'm glad they had fun....memories are great.

Oh no, you for sure misjudged that one too!

In fact I've never stopped.

My favorite memory of kayaking with Bryan was once when he was feeling pretty adventurous (for him) and wanted to borrow my whitewater kayak for one run. And he was doing very well in it until he tried to paddle down some rocky section of this river and got stuck on a rock in the middle of the run! I had already run down in his recreational kayak and was waiting at the bottom of the little rapid for him. So when he got stuck on this rock he calls out to me to get my throw rope! I tell him I can't because my throw rope was in MY boat, and he was IN my boat!! He wiggled the kayak he was in over the rocks, got free and was fine, but it was just funny to me how scared he got stuck on a rock like that!! It wasn't like there was a LOT of water flowing past him or anything. Hee hee!

Moral of the story: Carry a back up fire source.

No, the moral of the story: shut the **** up. The only thing they do is
bitch at each other on RFC.

Yeah, as we discovered! It was warm weather though, we were not depending on fire for our survival, just to cook the hot dogs! And I hope everyone here knows I was being completely sarcastic about our dread of "RAW HOT DOGS".
