I enjoy caramelized onions but I only make them when I'm home alone because suprisingly many don't appreciate the aroma and it lingers. >> Sugar-free lime JELLO w/bananas: >> http://i68.tinypic.com/96yd78.jpg > >Funny pic. Looks like the bananas have a green skin like cucumbers. Well, it is lime JELLO, so I expected the green. But what I thought funny (odd) is I didn't realize the bananas would float. I usually use canned fruit and that sinks to the bottom. I even followed the directions on the package that says to let it chill for 1 1/2 hours so it would firm up a bit and the fruit would evenly distribute. Being such a large amount it took longer to cool down so it wasn't very firm but still the bananas didn't sink. I didn't eat any last night but I'm sure it will be tasty. >> Critters gotta eat too: >> http://i63.tinypic.com/6ss0g2.jpg > >Huge pile of birdseed surrounded by tiny pine cones? >What's going on up there in NY? ![]() I have a large spruce tree windbreak at the side of the house made up of two different kind of trees, every winter when it's windy the cones are blown all over. I go about picking up the large cones but there are too many small cones so I leave those... with the first mowing my mulching blades make them disappear. In the meantime the birds peck the seeds from the cones. The only strange thing going on is this is my first winter here with no snow. |
