I was walking down the aisle where the Ramen was. There was a dad shopping
with his son. I am no good with ages but the son was either a older teen or young adult. All of a sudden, the son spotted the Ramen. If you have never seen the Ramen at Costco, it comes in a multi-pack. Not sure how many are in there but a lot. And between that and Winco, it is the cheapest price around. Son said, "Whoa!" Did a double take. Looked stunned. Picked up a package of it. Looked shell shocked. Then more softly muttered, "Dad!" By then he was looking around as though he had a prize and feared someone would steal it from him. Dad just kind of lifted his eyes, sighed, and said, "I know, son. Put it in the cart!" Made me want to chuckle. Guess I'll never know why he had such a reaction. Either the price or the amount or both. Or maybe he's just a Ramen lover. |

His kid probably is a picky eater. Possibly you can relate. --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus |

Ramen is really varied in quality and taste. Charlotte did the same to me at a local place called Grand International (Gary, if you see this, Newtown just north of VB BLVD, on the left). Nongshim brand (Tempura Udon) and Vifon brand (Vegetarian Mi Chay). We have some standard Maruchan as well but that's more for when she runs low on the 'good stuff'. Favorite of all we used to get in Japan and can source only at #1Ichiban (Gary, Japanese place, take the Lynnhaven mall from Holland and the left side and will be on the left, Michiko is the owner I think). I'd give you a brand name but it's in Japanese characters. Pricy at nearly 3$ a bowl but a comfort food from her childhood. Had she seen it at Grand International for 2$ or less, she'd have grabbed a second cart.... Carol -- |
