Beef Short Ribs
6 ounce Beef Short Ribs Braised in Port Wine and Demi-Glaze with Root Vegetables Served over Mashed Potatoes $23.00 Seared Grouper Fresh Grouper served over Wild Rice and Vegetables Du Jour topped with Lobster Cream Sauce Tapas $13.00 /Entrée $24.00 I might actually order the short ribs. If I do I will pick them up and bring the meal home. I'd much rather eat at home. Also, I'm pretty sure they can't stack ribs (not even short ribs) on top of mashed potatoes in a styrofoam To-Go box. LOL I *really* don't want to eat stacked food. Jill |

But they know me and they know I'm highly critical of their meals. I might get three ribs or even four. LOL I'll likely make a pot of lentil soup tonight, too. I'll add spinach. That could be dinner tomorrow. A nice hearty soup served with some crusty toasted buttered bread. Gary thinks a person can't make a meal out of a nice hearty soup. I beg to differ. ![]() Jill |

I called to ask how early could I pick up the braised short ribs. I cannot see to drive at night. There are no street lights on Dataw, allegedly to preserve the ambiance. Thanks to daylight savings time it's pitch black very early. I was told 5:30 at the earliest. Gee, when the other chef was there I could get something as early as 5:00. We'll see about that. I showed up before 4:30. Had a little chat about how I know the food is ready way earlier. I know know how long it takes to braise things. Likely he'd been doing it since before Noon. I was served by 4:45. He got his little revenge by including *lots* of mashed potatoes. Little does he know, I *love* mashed potatoes. http://i66.tinypic.com/s1rci9.jpg I'm pretty sure they aren't instant. The sauce is nice. I will forgive the carrots. I also got some artichoke/shrimp dip with pita chips. For when I feel like snacking. Jill |

You get different aspects of beef together, crusty brown exterior, rare interior and bone to chew on. I always make them that way. The rest of the family doesn't like them anyway--too much fat--and I have good teeth. --Bryan |

They sell these things they call "boneless short ribs," which are merely pieces of chuck. Those are cheap. Just like boneless chicken wings, which are not wings at all. --Bryan |

Not here. I got a package of short ribs once in the mark down section for something like that price, but they are a rare event at my house because they're so expensive. In fact, that's the only time I remember cooking them in let's say... 30 years. -- sf |
