PJs is good. I always wonder why anyone would bad-mouth them.

Seriously. I quit eating at pizza chains about 20 yrs ago, but was
always shocked at how good PJs was. After all I'd read and heard from
other ppl, I didn't understand the bad public opinion against PJs.
I've only ordered from them 3 times, all different locations, and they
were always great.

I will admit, the last time I ordered from PJs was about 6 yrs
ago. 8|

Nothing wrong with the Pizza at PJ's. I just don't want to support
his lifestyle and attitude toward workers.

I am reminded of discussions about the best hamburger joints. It seems
that a lot of people are more worried about consistency and fast service
than with a quality product. I was never much of a pizza eater but I had
had a number served to me that were from chains and none of them were
impressive. There is a place in town that makes a pretty good pizza.
There had been another one that managed to change my attitude about
pizza a few years when I got one there with eggplant and goat cheese.

Here's what you did when you went all over the Usenet impersonating the

* home address

YOU did that, you evil *******!

So what's stopping her? I think she suffers from Bovism - she just

Same here. There's a local shop that costs more,
but has WAY better pizza. And delivers.

AND has discounts for good customers,
I've been one for more than 20 years.

Sales are pretty flat for both companies.

I do Papa Murphy's or if I need something delivered I go Dominoes.
First choice is local Flying Pie.

Market share. I imagine nobody is doing without pizza
and there's barely any difference in the taste of the
major players' pizzas, so everybody has to woo customers
from the competition.

The only big difference in taste of commercial pizza to me is the
Papa John's pizza. All the rest taste similar to me in a good way.

Papa John's tastes too much like my home made pizzas.
For that reason, I never buy from them anymore.
I can do that at home. I'm not all that impressed with mine
and not impressed with theirs either.

Pizza Hut is good to me but seems greasy compared to others.
I like Little Caesars, Dominos, Chanellos.
Even 7-11 makes a pretty decent one for the price ($5.55)

I like my homemade pizza better than any standard purchased
pizza. (I've had snobby pizzas that I liked as well as my
own.) For me, it's all about the crust. A bland crust
(like Pizza Hut's) is a deal-breaker for me. With a good
crust, you don't need to load it up with a lot of toppings
or sauce.

I remember when Domino's was good pizza, back before they
went national.

a neighbor of mine knew the brothers and liked the pizza idea. He
moved out here, opened a dominoes store and worked it himself. Within
a short time he opened some more stores and then more and more. He
made himself a gazillion-aire on Dominoes Pizza.

LOL ewwwwwwww. The only bought pizza I've had was many years ago in Malta.
I hadn't known about them before and had been taken to an Italian Pizzeria.
They were wonderful. I have made my own ever since. Those from the Italian
place were very thick crust and those I have seen here are thin. Not sure
why they are different. Is thick crust out of fashion?

Thick crust is someone's take on Sicilian (square) pizza.

Someone's take????? LOL this was decades ago) If there was pizza in Uk I
didn't hear about it for many years after that, which is why I learned to
make my own.

I hadn't heard that Sicilian pizza had a thick crust. Is that the way
it was served back east?

I don't know about fashion but I think the crust is a matter of taste
and preference. I like a pan pizza once in a while but I much prefer
thin crust.

Heh pick the bits out that you like! Why not)

Is it because of the carb thing?

We only have what I make and I eat very little because I make what dh
prefers (ham and pineapple pizza (Hawiian?) and I am not so keen.

For the most part, but the pendulum will be swinging back. They've
abused thin crust long enough so it's time to move on.

I would like to waterboard Papa John, but not to get his pizza recipe--just
for fun. McDonald's has a new price cut too.

Why?

Isn't he charitable enough for you?

"Sources confirmed the company is planning to offer a “Pick 2” menu that
includes some items that had been on the company’s Dollar Menu in the
past, including the McDouble, McChicken and small fries."

A dollar item by any other name...

I suspect Wendy's 4 for 4 promotion caught their attention.

The 4 for 4 requires you buy chicken nuggets and a soft drink.

Little Caesars has pepperoni or cheese pizzas already ready, and there are
times that I have been in and out in less than 1 minute. They used to be
$5.55, but they cut the price to $5. Very cheap, very fast, very easy and
goes well with beer.

Yes it does.

Iow, each item is a buck.

1/1
2/2
4/4

Same ratio.

It's funny how you characterize me as "poor" when my family's income and
assets are above the median. Of course I don't care about the opinions of
folks like you anyway, but you demean the actual poor, many of whom are
merely victims of circumstance. You're anonymous trolls, probably ugly as
the ass end of a baboon, and I'm me. Whatever you are, I'm me. I like
being me.

Listening to a lot of Traffic lately. Winwood was a genius.

That would easily be in my list of top ten songs by anyone other than
the Rolling Stones. White Room is a Hell of a song as well.

Except that White Room and ToBY are pret' near the same song. Same
descending chord progression, even.
