![]() If you decide your apple syrup/molasses still doesn't appeal, try hot honey! The heat is from chili (you pick the type). Drizzle it on chicken. http://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/hot-honey That cider syrup might benefit from a boost of chili too. -- sf |

Seeing that subject line, for a moment I thought you were now calling me "honey" ;-o Thanks for the info. I'll look at it. Read my other post though - this was just an experiment. I'm not really after something that I desire. I'm just playing with food I DO want to get off my butt and experiment and come up with a very good honey-bourbon bbq sauce for chicken and beef though. I bought the pint of bourbon almost 2 months ago and it's still sitting, unopened in my pantry, next to a new jar of orange blossom honey. |

Honey is bee spit!! :-) And contains a very unique sugar: levulose!! Levulose is particularly resistant to fermentation!! Not surprising when you consider bees generally don't have refrigerators! And you would not want a bunch of drunk bees!! And nor would they! John Kuthe... |

I'm just playing with food That's why I thought you might be open to playing with your food a little more. It's an idea that can be transferred to your syrup and it's no loss if it doesn't work out, because you didn't have any plans for how to use it anyway. > > I DO want to get off my butt and experiment and come up with a very > good honey-bourbon bbq sauce for chicken and beef though.
