Default Mandarin Oranges

Bought a five pound box of Mandarin Oranges today, very good but what
to do with those peels... baked an orange pound cake.

Naturally the dwarf is going to bitch that my pan is dirty, but not
nearly as dirty as his filthy dwarfish self... not to mention that to
date in all these years the dwarf has never baked anything... all he
posts is pics of tex mex mierda.

Looks good! I used to get then fresh in Japan. They hit a particular
3 week period where they drop in price to 20 per 100 yen (generally 1$
or a little less).


On the pan, that's what all bakers know as a bakers patina. Similar to
a well cured cast iron pan. If you scrub it off, the bread will stick.
(Not good).

That's true with roasting pans too. Of course nowadays much cookware
is coated with non stick material, but for most bread/cake baking I
still much prefer bare steel. For intricate configurations I'm a big
fan of Nordicware, their non stick is excellent but still requires
caution when cleaning, I use a toothbrush for all the crevasses.
