Tonight I'm making chuck roast. I decided I'll cook it on the stove top
rather than use the crock pot, just because. New potatoes and lima beans to go with it. It's a nice comfort meal. ![]() What's on your menu? Jill |

A slice of multigrain bread and a glass of ice water. Followed by half an ounce of semisweet chocolate. Last night was better. Sunday I observed that a pint of grape tomatoes were getting a little overripe. I roasted them and set them in the fridge because I had other plans that night. Monday, I sauteed a thinly sliced clove of garlic in olive oil, shook in a bit of chile flakes (like the ones at the pizza parlor), and then added the tomatoes. When they were heated through, I added some sliced chicken. Delicious. The tomatoes were like candy. Cindy Hamilton |

I found this recipe this morning, you might be interested for the next time you have some leftover chicken to deal with. http://ohmygoodygoodness.com/2012/10...-greens-salad/ -- A kitchen without a cook is just a room |

I do occasionally make quesadillas. I should add those to my list of things to make soon. The little Mexican market on St. Helena sells oaxaca which is a very nice Mexican melting cheese. The language barrier is occasionally a problem. When Angela was a toddler, I made her a quesadilla several times a week for lunch. She had it with baby carrots, black olives and perhaps some cut up fruit. She didn't eat much then so unless I was cooking for someone else too, I just used a small tortilla and folded it in half. I dry fry mine. I am always shocked at how greasy they are in many restaurants. Blech. |

I feel sorry for your cats. You probably do weird things to them. Things that I don't want to know about. |

Sheldon, your post, which I judiciously snipped, is uncalled for and is utterly beyond despicable! Taking potshots at adults (I'm guilty, BTDT!) is one thing, but maligning a *minor (child) as you have in this very extreme and particular manner is absolutely, completely, totally (need I go on?) inexcusable, IMNSHO. To me, you now have no credibility about any subject! If anything, it'd be appropriate and only proper for you to "publicly" apologize here in RFC, but I'll wager that'd be a cold, "second" Tuesday of any week when/if that happens! Sky, who's no usenet police, but still, ... there are boundaries and lines that should not be crossed! |

> Angela is still a toddler only now she ****s and sucks Oh Lord! Now I know you've gone off the deep end, Sheldon. What a *HORRIBLE* thing to say about someone's child! Here's a good guess since you seem to know so much about everything: you sucked donkey dicks when you visited Mexico. Or maybe over at those horse stables your neighbors own. I truly hope your medication is screwed up. But just in case it isn't, please do continue to sleep sitting up while wearing your eyeglasses. With the television on. That's bound to make you feel rested and rational in the mornings. Jill |

Husband and daughter will have something from the freezer or fridge. I'm not cooking. Am trying to use up some stuff. I know there are mini tacos, taquitos and prepared salads. Later tonight I'll make a pot of chili for tomorrow. I have to make it now because I have to go to something at the school at dinner time. |

They won't eat it if I call it stir fry. Used an onion, baby carrots, two red bell peppers and some snow peas. I also made heated up a cheese pizza and some honey battered chicken. So they get the stir fry and a few bites of assorted things. And now I have some freezer space! I'm going to make an effort to gain more freezer space so I can make a big batch of meatloaf. I have also discovered some frozen food at Walmart that we all like. It's just a half a piece of pita bread with meat/cheese in it. I eat the ones with the little burger patties and Angela likes the chicken and cheese. They also have a burger patty and cheese but I will just buy the plain ones. Would be easy enough to add cheese if somebody wanted that. I buy the Roma tomatoes, then add slices of those, onion and lettuce to mine. Of course this wouldn't be an every day meal but it is something I can heat up in a matter of minutes and it is good food with no crap in it. |

Instead, I made chicken and rice soup that was flavored with star anise, ginger, garlic (a smidgen of onion) and very small bay leaf. -- A kitchen without a cook is just a room |
