My frames are firmly in the $100 +/- category. I simply can't make myself pay more for a frame. If I found one I couldn't live without, of course I would pay more - but I always find something I like/love within my self-imposed price range. -- A kitchen without a cook is just a room. |

That is the main reason behind the filter. How did you transfer little tidbit of information over to transition glasses? My glasses work just fine in my car. If the car's UV window protection keeps them from turning even darker, why is that a problem? My Transitions - new this year-don't darken in either of my cars. I asked the optometrist about that and he told me about the glass in the cars. I researched it online and found the same information and ended u buying real sunglasses. When I get into the car, they lighten and stay that way even on a sunny day. If I roll the driver's window down I have seen the left lens darken and the right stay clear if the sun hits them right. This is all over the internet and even on their own website so check it our before you start attacking me, or anyone else. |

No, your Transition lenses are working just fine. They simply can’t react to a light source that is not present, and in an automobile, most of that UV light has already been taken out of the equation. You may notice some darkening of your lenses while in your car; this is because in typical automotive applications, only the windshield blocks a high percentage of UV light. Side and rear glass is rarely laminated, so while it has some UV-blocking properties, it also lets a good deal of ultraviolet light spill through. And, of course, open windows allow in some ambient UV light, sometimes enough for your Transitions to react. |

You can't impress me with your cars because I have absolutely no idea what they are without looking them up. Why are you blaming your transition lenses when the real claim is the UV in your standard car windows are working as they should? -- A kitchen without a cook is just a room. |

Your car windows have great UV protection and you're saying your lenses don't work. What kind of logic is that? They don't turn into sunglasses because they don't need to. You seem to have lots of disposable income, so if you want to wear sunglasses, buy yourself a pair and wear them. Knock yourself out and buy designer glasses while you're at it just so you can name the brand here. -- A kitchen without a cook is just a room. |
