Apparently it's pretty dramatic (70,000 acres, 2500 firefighters).

That first photo looks more like what you would see with a volcanic
eruption. I see they caught the ******* that started that fire. The
problem is that there is no fit punishment for something like that.
The jet stream has shifted a bit today and we have clearer air. If it
shifts a lot more we will get the smoke from Oregon fires. There was
a segment on our TV channel yesterday. They interviewed different
folks around the city. All thought that we had a local fire going
because of the smell and density of the smoke..
I hope you guys get some relief. I was hoping that some of the
hurricanes would give you some water.

Maybe Southern California got some rain, but not up here. I heard
about 10 tiny drops late yesterday and the pavement was wet this
morning - but that was probably due to fog.

Some places in S.F. area (hills) got 1/2" or more.

the fire up by Weed, CA burned up half the town. Half the population is now without anything.
