Default I yam what I yam!

Why didn't someone tell me? I had no idea sweet potatoes were so good
when deep fried. I tried the chips a few weeks ago. Totally
addicting. Tonight, I made up a batch 'o SP fries. OMG! To die for.
This jes simple Or-Ida frozen sweet potato fries. I deep fried 'em at 350F
in peanut oil fer 5 mins. Totally forgot about the hamberger. I
haven't eaten French fries in years. Boring! But, these are awesome
OMG deluxe! Also, I bought an organic ketchup. Screw Heinz! I also
found an IPA beer that tastes excellent, despite having only 6.4%
abv. I'm beginning to discover flavor is better than cheap.

Many years ago, I ate at a Brazilian/South African restaurant, and had their mixed chips/fries: potato, sweet potato, and cassava. Nice.

Lots of starchy vegetables deep-fry well. It's a plantain classic. I should try taro chips.

Cute title but yams are not the same as sweet potatoes, though only asian
grocery stores and botanists seem to know this.

Must be jes me, then. I love 'em, which is strange cuz I never really
cared for SPs, before, except in SP pie, and those should be made with
yams.

As fer BK, we recently lost ours. Franchise owner sed, no problem, he
simply let the license agreement expire. Go figure. (shrug)

BTW, if they're jes a fad, how come Or-Ida is now offering them in two
different forms, crinkle and reg fries? I merely looked on a hunch and
there they were.

I love sweet potato fries. Try dipping them in ranch dressing.

Yes, but less carbohydrates!

Not that that makes a good-goddamn, but jes thought I'd mention it to
**** you off.

It matters not. It's not like I'm gonna become some kinda SP fry
freak, all of a sudden. They are sweeter than potato fries, which is
no doubt their popularity and increased calories. Dang! Shoulda
tried 'em with sriracha. Prolly taste great.

Fad or not, they don't seem to hold the crispiness as long as a regular
potato. BK may not have been able to get the shelf like they needed.

Seems to be a proliferation of veggie chips around these days too.

I tried sweet potato fries, didn't like them.
I like sweet potatoes baked in their skin until sugar runs.
I like plantains a lot.

Naw. TT are small enough you can go straight from freezer to oven.

Sweet Potatoes (or Yams, I don't know which) are good served Tempura
style in Japanese restaurants.

I will admit, Habby Tabby is the only habby based anything I've ever
found palatable. Unfortunately, I jes don't like habanero chiles in
any form. Tastes like essence of ashtray.

Strangely, I've found only re-hydrated dehydrated hash browns to be
worth a damn in a chain resto. Seems they're the only type that can
be properly crisped up when griddled. The one exception is hash
browns made from pre-baked/nuked potatoes, like I make mine. Hard to
find these in 99% of todays restos.

I love the original version of Terra chips, containing sweet potato,
parsnip, batata, taro, and yuca. Delicious, and looks very festive in a
pretty bowl.

DOH!! You are correct. I did get them mixed up. I loved Habby
Tabby. Unfortunately, it only lasted for a short time, locally. We
still have chokepotle Tabby, which is probably the best of breed, but
it's still chipotle. Bleah. I tossed my bottle.

A common affliction I often suffer. Prolly jes not interested as I'm
not a big SP/yam fan. These jes happened to take hold cuz I had some
SP chips and liked 'em. No doubt will be a short-lived fling with
them, as I'm trying to lose some weight and they're not the best
remedy for such an effort.

Just don't don't eat them every day or even every week. Everything in
moderation, as they say.
