I am only asking here in the hopes that someone has a solution. Everything
worked fine until the wee hours of the morning. Then Windows Mail started acting up. Was telling me that it couldn't open because another instance of it was already loaded (it wasn't) or that there was low memory. A couple of reboots solved that. The problem was then that it kept wanting to compact the messages but it wouldn't work. And it kept restarting, only to repeat. I might have a lead on that but in the meantime, I got it to where it never asks to compact. The big problem I have now is that alt.support.diabetes won't load. It tells me that there are 28 messages and yet when I click on it, the top of the screen is blank and below it tells me that it can't load the folder. Cause may be low disk space or low memory. Neither is the case. I know that the newsgroup is still up and running. I also know that others have had the same problem with just one newsgroup not loading (not this same group though) while running Thunderbird. I have Windows Mail and am running Vista 32 bit. One suggestion was to change to Windows Live Mail but I fear new problems with that. Am also using Eternal September. Any suggestions about why I can no longer get this group? Obvious fixes like unsubscribing, resubscribing, resetting the list and rebooting do not help. Thanks for any light you might be able to shed on this! Have posted to other, more suitable newsgroups but no clues as to the group not loading. |
