Default Another "Regional Cookbook" Recipe

notbob mentioned rice krispy treats. I ran across this "appetizer" in
'Heavenly St. Helena', published by the Episcopal church in Beaufort
circa 1991. It's not sweet, no marshmallows.

I find these types of cookbooks very entertaining to read.

Cheese Crackers
recipe submitted by Cynthia J. Cook

2 c. rice krispies
1/2 lb. margarine
1/2 lb. very sharp cheese
2 c. plain flour
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cayenne
whole pecans

Sift together flour, salt & pepper. Add to softened butter. Add cheese
and mix well. Add rice krispies. Pinch off about size of a quarter.
Flatten with hand. Top with pecan. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at
350F° for 10 to 11 minutes.
