We have several WF's here in SF, but I haven't seen what you say
you've seen. I also don't see them selling shoes or clothing, like
Walmart or Super Target.

They don't sell a lot. They do sell some Tom's shoes and we've been able to
get the new ones there when they are out at Nordstom. They do not keep a lot
of pairs in the sales floor. We used to assume that was all they had.
Nope. Last time we asked and they had the needed size in the back.

As for the clothing, it is organic and I think there are only a few peghooks
of them. I think they also sell socks. But again, not a lot of them.

PCC has similar clothing but no shoes.

Central Market has a large selection of aprons but AFAIK, that is the only
thing that could be considered clothing.

Sahara.

You could get those here too. I had some but was afraid to wear them. They
had paper dresses too. Can still get the undies online.

Hmmm...there is a WF adjacent to the lobby of my workplace, I will check that out.

I spend a lotta time peeps - watching in the lobby, many of the WH customers eat their pizza and salad bar stuff or whatever there. Me, I still can't really afford WH, have purchased very little there. But I will check out the carmelita bars out per your sugestion...

There is a senior lunch program where I work, they have coffee and pastries and such before lunch for the "social hour" -- all provided by WH. And at the end of lunch they put out a *huge* spread of WH baked goods (about to expire, they have to get rid of them eventually in any case) for the peeps to take for free, I have scored a LOT of great WH bread 'n stuff that way, lol...

BTW, I am off to Aldi to make a "chocolate run"...they have German chocolate *really* cheap. Gifted a co-worker with some the other day, she said, "OH! That's my very favorite chocolate!.". They have these cute little packs of five mini-bars, makes a lovely little gift - *or* for yourself!

Ha, I have no idea if you like that kind of thing. Oat bar with carmel,
chocolate and nuts. I'm fond of them. They cost $2.29 where I live
(just so happen to have one handy) no matter the size. I guess my store
is too lazy to weigh each piece.

It's not cheap, for sure. They have decent sales and the meats and fish
really are better than other places around here. They have things I
can't find elsewhere that conveniently. Like kombucha tea. Heh.

That is an okay price for a nice treat...will check it out.

Interestingly, a lot of homeless/street people are in the lobby (mostly younger kids, it is a social service agency...), the open entrance between the lobby and the WH is sorta like a "Berlin Wall" of class, a barrier 'twixt the well - off who can shop there and the less well - off who can only ogle the WH victuals on display from afar. It is a *very* interesting "juxtaposition"...and makes for *great* people - watching...!!!

I have sampled pretty much all of their breads...sometimes they put out close to a hundred baked items, attendance at the lunch can run in the 40 - 75 range. It helps out the older folks who are on a budget, a nice gesture fer sure.

Two of my co-workers - part of a lovely group I call "my girls" - washed and ironed and STARCHED some dress shirts for me so I'd look "sharp" during my first days on the job. Can you beat that? So, yeah, I shoot a little chocolate their way now and then..."sweets for the sweets", I say to them...
