Default Fie on you, TJ's eggplant cutlets!

This is the second time I've purchased these to try. Thought
they might make a quick eggplant parm lunch or something.

And this is the second time I have suddenly been without refrigeration
in years. Last time, Hurricane Sandy. This time, dead refrigerator
compressor.

See if I buy them again.

(laugh) The little freezer killers.

It's been a blast looking for a side by side with no water dispenser,
too. Finally found one that will be delivered Friday.

You and Trader Joe's eggplant cutlets seem to have bad karma together!
On the other hand, you've alerted me to a product that might be worth
giving a shot. I'll be sure to let you know if it kills my
refrigerator too.

I tried them and didn't like them, but it's
been so long that I don't remember what it was
about them that I didn't like.

I feel your pain. I had just stocked up on a lot of meat in my freezer 3
weeks ago. To make a long story short, the freezer was defrosting but I
didn't realize it (fridge 20 years old) when I did realize it it was too
late, so had to carry all that meat to the dump and was without a fridge for
several days. I did get a new fridge last Tuesday, but still leery and
checking closely every day. :-)

Another reason why I have a second fridge in my basement. And you
really didn't need to dump all that food, you could have bought a
block of dry ice (it's in your yellow pages), or for about $100 buy a
used fridge (again, yellow pages). Everyone should have the phone
number of the local ice house handy, like on the fridge door.

Arghh! It senses all that fresh expensive meat and has a good
laugh.

I did just buy chuck roasts and ribs yesterday, too. I don't think
they'll do well in a cooler until Friday between 9 and 5.

No, I couldn't take the chance because I think it started to defrost, then
worked, then started to defrost again several times because some of the meat
looked to be a funny color in spots. I wanted to save it, stewed around
about it, but decided it's not worth somebody getting really sick. Lowe's
offered to loan me a fridge which was nice of them, but it was after the
fact.

I bought one with the water dispenser on the inside side wall. It takes
up no space at all. Congrats on a new one!

I thought about asking the neighbors or taking it over to my brother's
place. Waiting around for the repairman to hear the verdict all while
searching online for a replacement just sapped my energy, now I won't
bother. It was a good idea, though, thanks.
