Jill, are you safe from Beryl... sky in NY is becoming quite ominous
and wind is gusting... I'm a good distance inland but I can already
smell sea air. I were you I'd hunker down indoors. I can tell a
storm is approaching from how all the critters are hiding, all the
birds suddenly disappeared . I just spent two full days mowing,
trying to mow while I can between all the rain the past week and now
new rain coming... I'd not be surprised if the rain begins here within
the next two hours... with the ground so wet I'll never be able to
work my vegetable garden.

Everything's just fine here, Sheldon, thanks for asking! It rained last
night and got a little windy but it was no big deal. Looking out the window
at the gardenia bush next door I see it's still quite breezy
Thunderstorms are predicted throughout the week. That's typical of this
time of year, even without tropical storms.

I hope the rain doesn't adversely affect your garden.

The few drops never amounted to much and today is sunny, warm (85º),
and dry... my garden is drying out nicely. I'm glad you're okay on
your island.

OK...finally time to pick on Sheldon. Your weather is fine now because it
had NOTHING to do with the tropical storm, Beryl. Watch the Weather Channel
sometime. I live between you and Jill and even I dont have any beryl affects
yet.

I'd like to know how Sheldon could smell "sea air". He lives at least
100 miles north of Long Island Sound and the wind in his location
yesterday was fairly calm (2 mph with max 16 mpg gusts)from the WSW...
that direction is land all the way to the Pacific.

Something smells in the Catskills, but it isn't sea air.

I happen to like Sheldon. And thank you, Sheldon for inquiring after my
well being.

Tropical storm Beryl or not, it *has* been storming here and it's been
windy. More thunderstorms are expected in my area tonight and off and on
the rest of the week. Tis the season.

I like the fellow too. I was just pointing out that his weather yesterday
had nothing to do with Beryl.

Sounds like it's going to pass right over you today, Jill. I'm supposed to
get rain from it tonight and tomorrow. With the extra warm spring, looks
like we might be in for a busy hurricane season.

Maybe not.

Could be, Gary. My neighbor and I have a plan if mandatory evacuation is
ordered. That should be fun with three screaming cats (two are hers, one is
mine) in their carriers in the back seat. We'll follow the somewhat
torturous evacuation route inland to Georgia. Then we will hope to find a
hotel that will accept three very upset cats and two very tired adults.
Best case scenario, the hurricanes could keep jumping over this place for
another hundred years
