I too wonder about how ES makes money, for google it's easier: they get paid
for sponsored links, and much more to it, now that they have released
android.

I know that alt.binaries.food can be opened. However, I'm not aware of any
other binary NG that will open. I wonder why? Eternal-September may be a
food junkie, as we are.

alt.binaries.pictures.gardens works but they limit the size of the
pictures.
