I have always like Dole Raisins, plump and juicy like advertised, but they
seem to have disappeared in the Midwest. Krogers, Meijers, Spartan supermarkets not even Wallymart seems to be carrying them anymore here in Michigan. They tasted great, probably due some unnatural means. If it taste good it was probably unnatural. Eating SunMade raisins was like eating dried out stems. I tried some local organic brands and they hade a really strong overpowering flavor. I have not found a good substitute raisin yet. One store that I have not tried yet is Whole Foods Market. Still looking for Dole Raisins or a good substitute, but have no wish for mail-order. -- Nad |
