I'm almost afraid to ask. What's in butterbeer? I mean in real life,
in THIS real muggle world.

It often baffled me as to what Rowling had in mind. In later books,
the characters occasionally became a tad tipsey from overindulging in
this fictitious brew.

I don't know if there is a real one, but I just read last week someone
saying they made theirs with bourbon and cream soda. They are 2 of my
favorite beverages but I've never had them in the same glass-- yet.

Haven't read any or seen any movies-- but I love Rowling's story.

Ewwwww! 8P

Both Bourbon and cream soda are high on my list, too, but I can't see
'em together. The only thing that touches my Wild Turkey is H2O.

"J.K. Rowling said in her interview to Bon Appétit magazine that she
imagines it 'to taste a little bit like less-sickly butterscotch'."

I imagine it would taste like a buttery root beer.

There are dozens of different fan recipes.

I was a late comer, poo-pooing the series. Finally got bored and
watched one of the movies with my granddaughters. Pretty good. So,
watched the rest. Then I lost 24/7 TV and started reading everything
in sight. Finally read one HP book and was hooked. Good writer, good
stories, good suspense, and not too candy coated, like one would
expect with kids as the target audience. You don't see how grim the
books really are in the movies, even though the movies do the books
justice. This last movie should reveal the adult themes in the books.
It isn't a fuzzy puppy ending. I'll hafta wait fer the DVD.
