Default I saw Whole Foods today.

Daughter was supposed to go in for an MRI at Seattle Children's hospital.
They have gluten free brownies in the cafeteria and I promised her one after
the procedure. But as luck would have it, their machine broke. So they
called and said we had to get her into the one in Bellevue at an earlier
time.

Anyway... On the way there we noticed Whole Foods. Since the hospital in
Bellevue only had a Starbucks and no cafeteria, we asked to stop there. I
know they have gluten free foods.

Although the store looked very nice and was a pleasant place to walk around
in, I see little need for me to ever go again. We got a four pack of
vanilla gluten free cupcakes. This is something we can't get around here.
Central Market does sell chocolate ones but daughter doesn't like chocolate
cake. The cupcakes come frozen, four to a pack. So that should last quite
a while. She mainly only takes cupcakes to birthdays and things like that.
She did get a little gluten free cheesecake, but Central Market sells those
and we can also get them delivered from Garlic Jim's. She did get some
gluten free Rudi's buns but I believe Central Market has those and possibly
Winco foods and they would be a lot cheaper there. She got some gluten free
wafer things that are sort of like Kit Kats. Very expensive, but they
always are. Almost $12 for two small packages. I have bought them before
via mail order and I believe I found them in a store but can't remember
which one. I got a Falafil (their spelling) but I can get those and
probably for less at both Central Market and PCC.

I did not see a lot of prepared hot/cold things that were gluten free.
There were some. I got some succotash that also has onions and cherry
tomatoes in addition to the corn and lima beans. I only got a small amount.
I figured I would be the only one who liked it and that turned out to be
true. Daughter got a small amount of garlic fried rice. Although they had
many different types of cooked chicken, I didn't see any plain or herbed
breasts which I can get at both Central Market or PCC. The salad bar did
look good but very expensive. We also bought a single bottle of water (that
was not expensive) and one of their shopping bags.

The total? Almost $56 for the one bag. So certainly not a place I would do
my regular shopping. I did notice quite a lot of non-food items in the
store that looked like they might make nice gifts, although perhaps not for
anyone I know. Most people I know do not cook. I didn't really look at
that stuff because I don't need anything like that at the moment.

That's the reason for the euphemism "Whole Paycheck"! I went there
looking for dried UNsweetened pineapple last year for my Christmas
Candy. I called a and the guy said yeah they have it. I go over there
and yeah they had it, in little tiny foil pouches of an ounce or two
for $3.99 each!! I wanted a pound or so!! Screw that! I went to the
grocery store, bought several cans of unsweetened pineapple tidbits,
drained them and dried them myself, all for under $5 and some time.
