Whew! What day. I guess my enthusiasm was a little bigger than the
reality, but it was my very first all scratch pie. After having eaten half of it, I can say, in all honesty, it wasn't really all that, but was still better than those crappy pre-fab pies they sell at you local supermkt for $4-5. No doubt most of the goodness was the fresh berries and the not-like-gum crusts. I really want to thank all you guys and gals for all the great advice and tips you've offered. I've copied and saved them all. I'm really stoked about making a somewhat successful pie and definitely plan on many more. I've had more fun than I would have ever imagined, probably due the fact I AM a true pie fan and my first attempt wasn't a total failure. Again, thank you to all who responded to my posts. What fruits are in season? I think I saw pears on sale! ![]() nb |
