I bought some Kikkoman panko crumbs a couple of months ago. They were
begging for use so I decided to use them with two center cut pork loin chops yesterday and serve butter, parsley, parmesan noodles with them. I had an idea and just vaguely glanced at the instructions. My plan was something like pork chop Shake 'N Bake, although I swear I've never eaten that. I strongly seasoned some flour and prepared an egg wash with milk. I got the panko ready using a bit of oil. I did the flour, egg wash, panko routine, and the chops looked really good. I placed the chops in a lightly oiled glass casserole and baked at 350F for fifty minutes. The bottom of the chops had some color, but the top was pale (perhaps I needed a rack). My wife suggested the broiler which I used till things darkened up a bit. It was an OK meal, but I had great expectations. Sometimes I have an idea that just ain't that great. leo |
