Default Why did this happen?

I used to cook my brown basmati rice (imporetd) in a pyrex bowl using
the sensor feature specifically for rice on the microwave. IIt
requires to runt he cycle two times. I use twice as much water in the
first cycle and then add little bit of water (like less than 1/2 of
the rice) to the rice that still would have some water left for the
second cycle. I didn't put all the water to prevent overflowing too
much.

Recently, I bought a microwave rice cooker so that I don't have to
use
"Rice" feature on the microwave and run the second cycle. I use 3
times as much water as indicated in the manual and use a little less
time than specified knowing that I had to reduce the time to prevent
overcooking.

My experince is that cooking with "rice" feature works better. Why
do
you think that is? Any thought? Next time, I will reduce the time
just a bit. If that doesn't resolve the issue (of not getting the
rice
the way I am used to it), I should just try cooking with this
microwave rice cooker but using "rice" feature (sensor program) of my
microwave, running two cycles.
