It was first, you can't eat your cake and have it too. The have your
cake and eat it too version showed up later, doesn't make as much sense
as the first, but somehow stuck.

Sure it makes sense, as the population increases so goes the ratio of
nincompoops. What doesn't make much sense is that with the internet making
more and more info more and more available still the world's average IQ is
declining, and at an ever accelerating rate... another ten years and yoose
imbeciles will completely fall off the chart.

There was a man who had 2 girlfriends neither of whom was aware of the
other. Their names were Kate and Edith. He dated them both for years.
Everyone was getting along fine. Then one day, Kate found out about
Edith, and Edith found out about Kate. The two of them talked. They
decided to confront the two-timer together. He was really on the spot
but then said "hey, what are you so upset about? When you didn't know
about each other, it was great. Let's go back to that." The 2 women
put their heads together for a moment and then told him, "we don't mind
that you're sleeping with both of us, it is just that you can't have
your Kate and Edith, too."
