If one chooses the proper cookware for the task, employs correct cooking techniques, and utilizes a modecum of common sense then there is no reason a stovetop needs to be power washed after each use. I mean if your pot tends to boil over and/or spatters at a particular heat setting how many brain cells are required to think about choosing a larger pot and/or lowering the heat.
