I'm with ya all the way. 'Cept for the grits. I just can't "warm up"
to those suckers. I think that it may be a texture thang.

And, yup. omelette's with a mildly spicy salsa are great. I tried it
once when we needed to do a grocery run and eggs and salsa were about
all that was left. It's one of the main ways that I eat 'em after that.

Lemme see now, Dawg: cheese grits, bacon, ham and (according to a subsequent
post) more cheese in the omelet.

And then EGGBEATERS?

Large piece of buttered multi-grain toast with half an avocado mashed with
fork and topped with cayenne pepper and fresh lime juice. Accompanied with
a cup of fresh roasted and ground coffee dosed with a finger of brandy and
dollop of Bailey's. Wish I had some lox. :)

Slice of smoked ham torn off the half ham. Apple butter licked off

Now, Michael, Eggbeaters doth not compensate for bacon and smoked ham! :-)

I've been making a lot of omelets lately, but I need to google for
foods that are appropriate after oral surgery. That will dictate
a few of my breakfasts after tomorrow (and my presenting condition

Sounds good. Mine was a two-egg omelette with muenster, red peppers and
ham, and my husband's was blueberry pancakes with (real) maple syrup.
Coffee for both of us.

I have been led to believe that Queen ELizabeth (first, not the
current one) had a steak with a quart of ale as her customary
breakfast. This might not be suitable for a four-year-old, I grant.

I hope I don't sound like a nerd, or worse, but my ideal breakfast is
as follows: A glassful of unsweetened ruby grapefruit juice; a bowl
of unsweetened grapefruit segments (or half a ruby grapefruit).
Small bowl of Greek yoghurt with liquid honey and plain toast with tea
or coffee.

If this sounds bland, well okay. It's healthy at least. Twice a
week I exchange the yoghurt for a boiled egg.

Nothing fried, nothing with butter. Mainly fruit and fruit juices
and yoghurt.

Cheers

Daisy

Michael was desperately ill, Blake, and needed lots of surgery - we were all
really rooting for his survival. Once through it all, he was craving all
kinds of food but wasn't allowed any of it. I can see why he's enjoying
himself now. Good for you, Michael.
