Default Probe Thermometer Questions

Hi all:
Does anyone have a good experience with these. Have read on Amazon that
they work well for a while then croak. I think that Alton Brown uses one
by Polder which gets mixed reviews or YMMV.
Has anyone used the wireless version ?

Thanks, Aileen
