Last year there was post asking about better brand names for chicken
base, but I can't find the print out now that I had saved. I really need feedbacks from people in group what they consider their choice of bases. I could buy a jar of the dry base where my boyfriend works but it's the cheap crap that I rather not use for the holidays. TIA Detroit |

If you can't find it, Better than Bouillon is a lot better than the dry stuff. kimberly |

Also Penzey's sells a good base under its name at www.penzeys.com which seems by ingredient match to be identical to "Orrington Farms" base which I have found at my local Albertsons. pavane |

I use a brand called L,B, Jamisons, and I have no complaints. I get it at
Hy-Vee. I also use their beef base and ham base (which is great for bean or split pea soups.) 1 jar is usually good for about 6 pots of soup. This is also great for gravies, or when I'm cooking rice I add a spoonful for flavor. Sandra |

I just looked at the beef base and they are considerably different products, the Orrington being a much "cleaner" (less additives) mixture. Sorry for the implication that they are all the same. pavane |
