An 8oz container of yogurt, with peaches.. Thought about toasting a
whole wheat muffin, but holding off to use it with some ham shank
"portion" I cooked day before yesterday. Why do they use names like that
to just short you out of a good thing? I know it just means the ham
"steaks" are missing. But it is one of those little things that can bug you.

It is still too early to eat breakfast. Yesterday I had hot dogs, but
scrambled eggs sounds pretty good.

in a flatbread I put two fried eggs (yokes broken) , two slices
canadian bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, two cups of columbian coffee,
glass of OJ

I'm eating for lunch: in a wrap I put scrambled eggs(1 per small
wrap), topped with sauteed(nicely browned)mushrooms, onions and peas.
Season with lemon pepper. Warm the whole thing and eat it. Simple
but tasty. The other day I had similar but used bacon as well. Diced
tomato.

PS. I wanted something sweet and had PB and apricot jam. Yes, I
decided not to LC until perhaps later today. This weekend was NOT

Back to the Raj, Andy.......

KEDGEREE

1 pound smoked haddock
1 medium onion, finely chopped
4 ounces butter
1 teaspoon garam masala
½ teaspoon tumeric
12 ounces basmati rice
4 hard boiled eggs, 2 roughly chopped, 2 quartered
½ pint heavy cream, warmed (optional)
Salt
Black pepper, freshly ground
1 tablespoon chopped parsley

Simmer the haddock in salted water for 10 to 15 minutes, but don't
over cook.

Drain the fish, saving the cooking water. Remove the skin and bones,
and flake the fish, keep hot.

Fry the onion gently in the butter with the garam masala and tumeric
until softened.

Cook the rice in the haddock water until tender, then drain and allow
to dry out a little.

Add the spiced fried onion to the rice and fold in the flaked fish and
the roughly chopped eggs.

Pour in the cream and add the quartered eggs. Season with salt, pepper
and parsley.

Today was Cheerios, as befits a workday. Yesterday, though,

Not a lost art so much as just a little known cooking method. I only
know about it cuz I saw it done as a kid chowing down at a ranch house
table. I only do it when I've just fried up a large batch of bacon
and have plenty of grease in the skillet. Not a very common set of
conditions in these health conscious non-stick low-fat times. I enjoy
doing when I can. Brings back fond memories. ;)

Oh, gee. I made a rather bland version when I was very young.
Haven't tried it since. This, with the garam masala, has more
potential.

That's surprising. LCing usually has a very good effect on that.
Do you have some genetic issue that leads to such numbers?

I had to google them to see what they are. I've always thought of them
as just the correct way to cook eggs sunny-side up.

I do them whenever I have enough fat in the pan. If I don't I
usually add a bit of water and cover for a close equivalent.

When I was a kid you could order lightly basted anywhere that had
eggs. Very likely they used Crisco back then (before they knew
better).

That's more like poached.

Had a Chocolate Monkey smoothie and a cup of Columbian coffee for
breaky.
I'm busy working on sliced sweet peppers with aged chedder and whole
wheat crackers, and of course another columbian coffee.

I had first-of-the-season native strawberries with a dab of
splenda-sweetened mascarpone cheese. And you-know-what. I didn't
realize you have a real problem with caffeine! :-(

Lunch is going to be buffalo chicken and blue cheese dressing, a
nectarine, and water.

I have some on the hard drive. Let's see:

A pic from this past April. Water basted eggs, a small grilled steak and
some steamed Asparagus. And yes the yolks were runny!

He forgot to quit drinking alcohol I imagine.
That is one item that can defeat the cholesterol lowering effects of low
carbing.
