i see you have severe issues. remind me never to eat what you cook.
i prefer food that is real & has the flavor & texture it's supposed
to have.

Two trolls it seems. It's a valid question, especially with current
concerns about obesity, to discuss methods that actually work to reduce
grease in food. I know there's an alt.food.low-fat group but it's
moribund.

Besides there is nothing artificial about reduced fat dairy... ALL dairy
today begins as reduced fat from how milk comes from the cow... the fat
content of all dairy products is manipulated.

Try condensed milk (not the sweetened kind).

It sounds perfectly disgusting. I'd rather do without, since the end product
bears no resemblance to what was intended.

of course, City Boy, because no one milks their own cow or goat
anymore, so all foods are "processed"...

thanks Wayne. i'm glad i'm not the only one that prefers to make
food as it was intended, without substituting reduced or no-fat
products. it's not like the average person is eating a steady diet of
quiche, cream soups or sauces.
it is far more satisfying to eat delicious food in moderation than
to ruin the taste/texture so one can feel virtuous while pigging out.

I'm also glad I'm not the only one who feels this way, Lee. IMHO, nothing in
moderation is going to kill you, and should only be avoided under strict
doctor's orders.

There are plenty of great meals I can and do make that are not high in fat,
but when I feel like splurging, I splurge. :-)

careful now, lee, calling sheldon a 'city boy.' he is intimately familiar
with all manner of farm animals.

yeah, they run when they see him drive by...

how are you doing, Blake? been a bit less chaotic here, for the most
part. got money woes, but don't we all now? :p better that than all
the deaths & cancer crap i had last year though. i can live cheaply
at least. just means putting off painting the house exterior for a
bit & eating more dried bean dishes & canning/freezing more veggies
from the garden.

i'm cruising along pretty well. i was retired before all the financial shit
hit the fan, no real investments, so my situation is mostly unchanged. i'm
still poor.

your pal,
blake
