Default Dinner last night Mon Jan12th

*Huge* day yesterday, worked our asses off away from home all day, so
nothing was taken out of the freezer for dinner.

Popped into the local Leonards Chicken shop and bought a couple of Chicken
Kievs.

Fried in the frypan for approx 2mins one side, then turned, heat turned off
and a lid placed over the pan.

At the same time, I steamed the leftover butternut pumpkin (minus the skin
this time!!) with the leftover broccoli, a couple of garlic cloves, some
Italian herbs, and made a pumkin mash.

Grabbed the last remaining potatos, and did them 'hasselback' style, with a
parmesan and cracked pepper topping.

The meal got a 7.5-8,mainly because I bought the kievs.
Which is fair 'nuff.

PeterLucas,

I'd certainly eat that! Looks great.

Nice potato style. I haven't seen them made that way.

Best,

Looked good to me, also. I had never heard of doing potatoes that way.
here's the first hit Google gave me:

http://whatscookingamerica.net/Veget...ckPotatoes.htm

I'll have to try them.

Really? Because that looks amazing like your basic frozen vegetable mix
available here in the US from Birdseye, Green Giant, Pictsweet, etc.

Ummmmmm, can't you read kathleen?

I was talking about the pumpkin mash. I never mentioned the frozen veges,
as I thought anyone with at least one brain cell would be able to see what
they were.

And there is a problem with that??

BTW, it's actually Heinz SteamFresh.

http://www.heinz.com.au/Food/FoodEntry.aspx?catID=7

Good to have in the freezer for when you've run out of fresh, or couldn't
be arsed spending all your time driving to the grocers every day to buy and
prepare fresh.

The crux of the matter is that you post crappy pictures Peter. No one cares
to see a glob of frozen vegetables. Perhaps you should reserve your
photography expertise for something that is a bit unusual or interesting.
Frozen vegetables are just not that interesting dear.

Agree , Some days he is a worry ,for sure
But practice make perfect they say . At least RFC has taught him to
dudd up the meta data on his fake photos .

The man is to be commended for having a go at least at real photos .
Although the frozen vegies not such a good look .
The chicken --if he only knew

Can't you write, Lucas?

"I steamed the leftover butternut pumpkin (minus the skin this time)
with the leftover broccoli, some Italian herbs, and made a pumkin mash".

"Steamed with". As in "together". What's with the broccoli in the
photo you posted? Obviously frozen vegetables. What else is on the
plate? Various orange-ish globs. Chicken? Potatoes? Roasted
armadillos? Who knows.

Contrary to plan or expectation Pits looks the best out of Kirkland, Lucas &
McKay.
And Pits seems to have the best job out of this group, that is considering
Kirkland is dead in Owaka (:

No, the gloppy brown stuff. I've got a hankering for those frozen
vegies, though.

Yes, it seems "kathleen" has a bit of a comprehension problem.

They're great for when your main only takes a few minutes to do, and you
don't want to spend 30mins preparing fresh veges (especially after a
rather hectic day!!). And nowadays, the frozen veges are just as good
nutritionaly as using fresh.

I wonder what "kathleen" had for dinner?

Frozen TV dinner? What were they called??? Big Man Meals??

Maybe she goes to a 'restaurant' all the time? That's what they call
those places with the big yellow arches, don't they?

You have the comprehension problem. You are incapable of putting together
a declarative sentence.

No one is debating the convenience of frozen vegetables. Most normal people
wouldn't think enough of them to post a picture of them.

Geez You really arc up at constructive or any kind of criticism
Peter .
Would not your Special forces training have prepared you to take
mild critiques even ?

Oh thats right you denigrate all other Corps , Arms, Services and
