Los Angeles: 7-Eleven Uh...I'm surprised that I can't think of any other chains besides gas-station-minis. Of course Los Angeles is huge and I haven't been to every part of it. I'd say that perhaps out on the periphery just inside the line but basically still the boonies there might be some Circle-K stores. -- Blinky Killing all posts from Google Groups The Usenet Improvement Project: http://improve-usenet.org Need a new news feed? http://blinkynet.net/comp/newfeed.html |

There's an Alta Dena Dairy drive-through mini not far from me, on this side of Burbank. No, it's not limited to dairy products despite the name. I don't know how many of them there are, though. <clickety> https://www.businessbroker.net/State...For__Sale.aspx Here are some numbers on one. Feliz. It's Feliz. It's not named after a topless/nude performer. ;) (You made me think of Kitten Natividad. IMDB: "Miss Nude Universe twice in a row, in 1970 and 1971, got her a topless non-speaking part in The New Centurions (1972). Started working as a maid for fellow nude model and actress Stella Stevens, went on tour as a strip-dancer for three years. Then she met talent-finder Russ Meyer, with whom she lived on-and-off for 15 years, and apparently paid for her breast enhancement in 1979. They didn't marry because her first husband, 25 years her senior, wouldn't grant her a divorce (eventually he did, and she subsequently married, and divorced, three times). She appeared in many hardcore productions in the 1980s and 1990s, where she would not perform in explicit sex scenes; she would only say a line or be photographed topless. Her wild beauty, personal charm and sex appeal left her image imprinted on the viewer's mind, often more indelible than the film stars. In her later films she appeared plump, but still attractive. Chris Penn remembered her 44-25-35 dimensions from his earlier film The Wild Life (1984), in which Kitten also danced, and presented his brother Sean Penn with an eye-popping, erotic performance by Kitten Natividad on the eve of his marriage to the Material Girl. She underwent a double mastectomy for treatment of breast cancer in October 1999.") -- Blinky Killing all posts from Google Groups The Usenet Improvement Project: http://improve-usenet.org Need a new news feed? http://blinkynet.net/comp/newfeed.html |

Definitely nothing to write home about. The Sheetz stores we've been to are nicer and definitley cleaner than the 7-11 and Wawa markets we have closer to home. Decent coffee and picnic tables that get cleaned once in a while. Food is fresher, too. I guess it's just what you're used to. Jon |

What we have are "Party Stores". Liquor stores that also sell pizza and bread, milk, flour kind of staples. Some have a little hardware/auto suppy aisle. The usual convenience store junk. You made me think of one good thing about this place - they're not chains. The two closest to me are Joe's General Store, run (I think) by the same family that had it when I went there as a kid, and In and Out - a Chaldean family who, even after my advice, sell pizza and subs but no fallafel.
