It is 8:30 pm Sunday night in Fargo ND . . . and the air temperature
is nine degrees below zero F. The wind chill is thirty nine degrees
before zero F. It's pitch black out there and the wind is howling. I
am going to go to bed and pull the comforter over my head. Call me in
April.

Love,

You need a stocking cap too. Sleep tight!

Sorry, Lynn. I really am.

It's midnight here in Cow Hill and the wind is howling outside in the
darkness. It's just 37F right now, but the temperature rose to the
mid 70s this afternoon. It'll freeze tonight and the high tomorrow is
not going to break 35. We lost 40 degrees in a couple of hours. Ice
is a possibility for my region tomorrow.

We got ourselves a blue norther here.

Back in the 70s we lived in Omaha, where I learned two important
winter lessons: 1. Minus 22F is horrible (when the mucus in your nose
seizes up as you inhale, your attention is focused on basic things),
and 2. The smell of mud when the spring thaw finally arrives is
heavenly.

Maybe you can make stock tomorrow? Simmering stuff on the stove can
be a comfort.

We've got your weather here now. And I just locked myself out of the
house when I let the dogs out. Anyone in the path of this cold front,
DON'T GO OUTDOORS unless you absolutely have to!

Saturday was +60 degrees in the Denver area. Sunday never got above
single digits. Today at 7AM it was -8 with a -13 overnight which broke
a record for the date set in 1901.

Baby, it's COLD outside!

Can't do that in this neighborhood. But it's a good idea to have one
on your person at all times. I might just wear one on a chain.

I had one of those remote locks with the entry code I could punch in if
necessary installed. Now.. as long as the memory holds up!

We'll get that cold too, but for now it's nearly 6:30pm and 65(F) outside.

Got footie jammies? And a hot water bottle? They used to use these things
to warm up the end of the bed (after they figured out hot bricks weren't
such a great idea heheh)

I'd go for one of these if I didn't live in a climate where it got up to 75F
today.
