When I was jes a wee tyke, a nice lady used to make pan cakes for us kids.
They were mostly box mixes, but we didn't care. She'd do it daily and there
was an ever-present supply of snack food in the form of a pan cake with
killer frosting. As I recall, the frosting was your basic "butter
frosting". That is, it was made with one cube of real butter and a whole
box of powdered sugar. I seem to recall it was a basic recipe on the
side/back of a box of powdered sugar. I don't see it on sugar boxes,
anymore, no doubt due to the PC and DC (dietetically correct) police bearing
down. Any one of you ol' butter freaks know the traditional recipe?
