Default Yogurt consistency / inconsistency question

I love Stonyfield yogurt. However, I have noticed that some containers
I get the yogurt seems thick and rich and creamy smooth, and others
seem a little more on the watery lighter chunky fluffy side. Neither
of them smell bad, but I really like the thicker one. Is this my
imagination (as my husband thinks) or is something going on with the
yogurt that I don't know about ? And are both consistencies safe to
eat ? Thanks.

have you checked the dates &/or the type?
older yogurt gets thinner & kinda lumpy. the no fat is runnier
than the low fat, & the only *good* thick yogurt is the full
fat <g>. both the low fat & no fat Stonyfield have thickeners
added, which could also account for variations in consistancy.
old yogurt that is still sealed should be fine. i've had
quarts of plain & vanilla (full fat) Stonyfield get lost in
the fridge to resurface & be perfectly fine a year later
(opened ones don't last more than 10 days). they do get a bit
runnier because the lactobacillus bacteria *are* live culture
& the cold just slows them down, it doesn't kill them, so they
are still working & changing the consistancy.

Last night while sitting in my chair
I pinged a host that wasn't there
It wasn't there again today
The host resolved to NSA.
