I'll continue to keep her and Ol' > Whiskerface in my prayers > > Kathi > Dear friends, Y'all are just too cool for words. We bin in n' out of the hospital a couple times, but still making progress. Cancer sucks; surgery sucks; infection sucks, cardiac diet rilly sucks, but since he looks like a skeletal refugee these days, I finally convinced them to give him whatever real food was available (boring gory medical details deleted). I think of the groups often and my neighbors' peach trees are fixin' to bloom. You know what that means. Been cleaning out the freezer and canned stuff, but having way too much fun with rx drugs and dying old computer to actually fire up a canner. We lost nearly every data thing, and what we didn't lose we can't get to. Or don't care. My sis was here for several weeks and planted peppers, okra, dill, heirloom 'maters, spinach, and buddhist homilies. My chamomile and asparagus is up, the bay and parsley and spinnich never died. OB Food: Sis & I found we love mixture of brown rice and wahini (red rice) best 1/2 & 1/2. I found some black (sweet?) rice at an Asian grocery nearby. My entertainment for the weekend. Am searching for very nice biggish woks as wedding presents. Love to all, Edrena PS Wish me luck in changing my spell check dictionary from French. I don't get to pick anything else. It said I misspelled everything. I think I need to sacrifice a chicken and dance nekkid widdershins around the hard drive at the next full moon. Oughta make for an interestin' bbq. Y'all listenin' Moose? |

How are your other applications behaving? If you're using XP, here is a good group to inquire in microsoft.public.windowsxp.general check this setting first - Change the default language setting You can change your default settings in Microsoft Office to have them match the default settings of a different language. In Microsoft Windows XP, on the Windows Start menu, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Office, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings. In Windows 2000, on the Windows Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Office, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings Click the Enabled Languages tab. In the Choose the language that defines default behavior in Microsoft Office applications box, select the language you want, and then click OK. A message appears describing the effects of the change. To continue, click Continue and lose customizations. -- See return address to reply by email remove the smile first |

The Nose is coming out of retirement. They called me that in Albuquerque cook-in 'cause I sniffed at all the new foods like an aspiring conneswuer. I will get my dictionary working once of these days. According to www.wildriceexchange.com the product looks similar fer sure. BTW, I just now checked the package and it is spelled *wehani.* www.lundberg.com is the California company that makes it. It really does have a nice firm texture and nutty taste. At http://www.archives.quillandparchmen...01/wahini.html , *wahini* means (in Hawaiian?) a woman; a wife; a female (wah hee nee). I didn't know that. And http://www.healthycompany.com/article11_rice.htm had this to say: "There are about 7000 varieties of rice which range from white to black, yellow, pink and red, light brown and deep brown, some with heavenly aromas (basmati and jasmine) and others with a distinct "Indian bazaar smell" - the choice is infinite, yet most North Americans eat either long-grain or medium grain polished white. A pity, because brown, basmati, arborio and wahini are more flavourful. Easily digested and with a high B complex content, it is said to calm the nervous system and help overcome allergies..." Who knew so many varieties? Pity fer sure, so many flavors, so little stomach. In any case, we liked mixing up the browns with a little wild thrown in from time to time. I did pick up some jasmine rice to try, too. And that sweet black rice. Edrena, calmly contemplating bashing new fancy hard drive. |

He's counting on getting back on the Harley. Feeding him up and getting him strong my priority these days. Pork ribs, baked sweet potatoes and mixed salad was real nice tonite. Cooked them ribs in the oven about 4 hours at 250F, having rubbed on spices & stuff. Last few minutes cranked up the heat and glazed with bottled bbq sauce. Not fancy, but everything worked. Time to quit for the nite, having a rum & stuff cocktail. Love, Edrena |
