Default how to adjust cooking times

Hi folks,

I'd like to make some mini corn muffins using a pan with half inch
deep cups that are about 1.5 inches across. How much should I reduce
the cooking time? The recipe I use says to bake at 425F for 15-20 mins
for a regular sized 2.5 diameter muffin.

The mini muffins are so small, I really don't want them overcooked and
dry. I haven't used the pan enough to have a feel for how long to bake
stuff. Do you think 5-10 minutes would be enough? Should I lower the
cooking temp? Is there a formula or a good rule of thumb for making
adjustments like this?

Start with 10 minutes, and try the toothpick test. Do not lower your
oven temp. If they are not done try 3-4 minutes more and try again
until the toothpick comes out dry.

I have a recipe for cupcakes using the mini muffin pan. The directions
call for 350* for 12 minutes.

Hope this helps.
