Default [OT] Drinking - Trailer park boys

I have never seen so much drinking in all of the movies I have seen. There's
always someone pouring, drinking, holding a glass... it's a true alcool
shower. One character, Julian, always has a rum & coke glass in his hand,
always, even when driving of in a gunfight, cracks me up!
Am I the only fan of this canadian serie here? Which is the movie or serie
where you have seen the most alcool abuse?

Canadian television is well-known for it's documentaries. What's so
unusal about this one?

It took me a while to t ake a shine to that show but when I sat down and watched
an entire episode I realized how funny it is. I had a simialr reaction to Reno
911, thinking it was really silly at first but it grew on me. I saw an awards
show where the Trailer Park boys won some awards and the whole gang was on stage
in character.

LOL I have a friend who lived there for close to ten years. He recently sold his
house and moved away. He didn't like the show because he thought that it was too
realistic.

I haven't been able to sit through an entire episode of either
(TPB or RenoIXII) and I like fluff-nonsense like those two shows.
How'd you manage to sit through without finally convulsively
twitching the remote to another channel?

ObAlcoholicDrink: Gin Martini, Shaken, not Stirred
INGREDIENTS:
* 5 oz. of Bombay Sapphire or Beefeaters gin
* 1 oz. of Noilly Pratt dry vermouth
* 2 twists of lemon rind
* 2 Spanish olives stuffed with pimento

METHOD:
* Fill a stainless steel shaker 3/4 full of ice.
* Pour gin and vermouth into shaker and allow to stand
for a 30-60 seconds. Place lid over mix.
* Gently shake three times. (Remember you're not
dancing to a salsa or rhomba.)
* Into two glasses add twists and olives.
* Pour and enjoy.

So John was simply implying that canadian documentaries usually show lots of
booze? Nice country, that one.

I think that what he is suggesting is that using a trailer park as the setting
for the series demonstrates the dramatic technique of suspension of disbelief.

I've had trouble convincing someone from Glasgow that Due South is
also a documentary.
