I was tired last night. Worked until 8, went out to dinner - then hit
the computer to catch up on email (I want a daily digest version of
the list, Lin!) and newsgroups and was practically falling asleep when
I came to this post - but moseyed over anyway. Turned out my router
had crapped out on me and recycling it wasn't a priority at the time.

So, welcome back to cyberland nb!

I'll sometimes wander to chat at work if I have time... but I had a
problem with one of the Stratus Chemistry machines last night. At least
the service rep was able to help me repair it over the phone, but it
still took me a solid 4 hours to get the bloody thing working again.

And to add insult to injury, someone on day shift had crashed it's
computer and erased some of the memory, so I had to re-program the
quality control run from scratch.

A hell of a Friday night. ;-P

Welcome back nb!

So, when are you going to dive in? I don't remember seeing you there,
big fellah.

That was me. I apologize for that. But I was frustrated that I kept
on saying hi to you, and you didn't reply. I probably didn't give
you enough time to get back to your desk. But then again, I didn't
know that you had stepped away...

Try it again sometime. Evening is probably best...more folks
there....

But...can you say hi or something when you come in?

Christine

That's not the entire story. You didn't attempt to make yourself
known.... you were just an anynomous lurker. If you're going to walk
away from the keyboard, at least sign in.

Hey, it's a *chat* room. Chatting is part of the protocol. Once we
recognize your IP, we'll know it's you and not be creeped out. Ranger
often signs in and forgets he's there. We know it's him and that's
what he does. Eventually, he refocuses and chats.

I won't be there. I have to work tonight..for a 12 hour shift. But
you can bug everyone else. Maybe they will all be nice and let you
stay. LOL.

Oh, that's okay. Once we know you and the IP address, we probably
won't care. A bunch of us get busy and stay logged in, and
occasionally say something. I am often doing stuff in the kitchen,
and come back and forth to the computer. Same with sky, and same with
some other folks. It's mainly knowing that it is you. I don't think
we knew it was you at first, and as sf said, that was the problem.

Yeah, Tammy did that once or twice. But we recognized her IP address,
and we realized that was probably what happened to her. Ranger does
it too. Notbob also gets busy doing some other things...

So come say hi sometime and tell us that it is you. And if you need
to walk away and do other things, or get bored by the conversation, or
lack of it...we won't really care. I think the folks there will start
to recognize your IP...

Just change your nick' like sf does.
Change it to "SW-Away". :-)

I rarely drop in to chat, but it can be fun.
