What the heck?
Please folks, don't think me rude! I joined this Google group last
Friday. I'm usually active on the Google Face & Body Painting groups. This morning I had a gajillion emails (in digest form) with a huge number of something about Pastorio (What's he got to do with this?) & diabetes & being saved. I'm not Christian, but I've always been tolerant because others have been tolerant of me! BUT; I love cooking, not wading through fanaticism. I understand y'all are used to these people, but I'm afraid having to skip past all the rants will just raise my blood pressure & turn my mind from the important issues in life; chocolate, garlic, meats, baking, etc. ;o) May all of you have perfect oven temps every day & may your cakes always rise! love & sprinkles, Cat Tampa, Florida |

That's where all the faux religious, anti-Pastorio, fanaticism is coming from. We need to exorcise him from the internet. -ginny |

In addition to sharing an interest in cooking and eating, we also share our ups and downs in life. Pastorio was an old, dear and extremely talented and gifted friend who died recently. We shared our loss together. This is an unmoderated group so you will find all the odds and ends that you mentioned. Moderated groups are available that are limited strictly to the stated subject of food. Give us a chance and you will soon determine what postings you wish to skip. Janet |

I would add, just view via the web, don't get emails. |

As soon as they find Jesus, they can't wait to give him to you. LOL Every village has a few nuts, including this one. Use a newsreader with kill filters, or just skip over their messages. Report the offenders to their ISP, sometimes it helps. There is plenty of good info in this group, so I hope you stick around. Becca |

Get a real newsreader, and you'll be able to filter out anything you don't want to see. I never see the spammy stuff you mentioned. Serene |

If Google disappeared, usenet would still be around. The best advice is just what you gave. -- "So long, so long, and thanks for all the fish!" Dave www.davebbq.com |

I've paid for mine, but I understand that there are some free newsreaders available that are good too. |

There is a pretty good level of on topic posting here, but it's not free of spam or off topic material. Best to filter or ignore what you want to avoid. |
