Pizza from scratch and freezing

i made pizza from scratch and froze the dough ball, grated cheese and
tomato sauce. When i thawed and assembled the new pizza I noticed only
the cheese had an off-flavour. Perhaps it picked up some taste from
other spicy food in my freezer? Or does grated mozzarrella cheese not
freeze well?

You can freeze soft cheese like Mozzarella, (1-2 months maxt) but because
they are soft, you need to take extra care to wrap them well so as not to
absorb odors. Must have been what happened

Mine does. Have no problems with it. It's the pre-packaged stuff though.
