Orange juice versus grape juice...which is better for you?
O J is generally considered an excellent source of vitamin C, but I would expect grape juice (the purple stuff) to have plenty of C as well, plus it is extolled as having a high amount of anti-oxidants. There isn't really room in the fridge for a large container of each. So if you could only drink one or the other, regardless of which you liked better...which would you pick? |

If you had to choose between two vapid questions to ask to dispel your boredom, why would you pick this one instead of the other? -aem |

I'm an American and this morning I read our President's remarks this week about the CIA prisons and Guantanamo and what he wants in additional authority to torture and then to use "evidence" gained from torture to prosecute prisoners who don't get due process. I know that he wants to impose democracy in the middle east oilfields, but I can't figure out why that means he has to eliminate democracy here. For relief, I turn to rfc and find virtually nothing about food or cooking and two pages of title lines most of which lack the OT tag that they ought to have. And it's too early here on the left coast to start drinking. Sorry 'bout that, as we used to say long ago and far away. -aem |

Clearly, the one which tastes best to you is the one to keep in stock. It's unbelievably silly to worry about arcane details such as the level of vitamins. A balanced diet provides all the vitamins you need. Of course, if it's orange juice you wouldn't buy one with added sugar ... would you? -- Craig |

Food value varies. Some foods are high in some elements and low in others. Some are high in one kind of vitamin or proteins and low in others, while other foods are the opposite. Rather than find the best <?> to have all the time, go for the variety. I wish I could drink more juice. Citrus and apple juices disagree with me. I used to love grapefruit juice, but it was the worst for me. I drink grape, cranberry and pineapple juices instead. |

Not if you've just made it yourself... as I posted elsewhere, we just acquired a juicer that could juice a Chevy, and in part the timing was so that we could take advantage of a friend's bumper crop of Concord grapes. If you're even remotely interested, you can read what I wrote about the juicer, and the fresh-pressed grape juice, he http://www.adventuresinrawfood.com/o...uicer-a-review Anne Personal: http://www.MangeMerde.com The Raw: http://www.AdventuresInRawFood.com The Law: http://www.DearEsq.com The Net: http://www.TheInternetPatrol.com |

Grapes have high levels of fluoride, so you shouldn't give a lot of grape juice to small children unless you don't mind their teeth turning brown from fluorosis. |

![]() every 7 days we all need a carbohydrate (wrongly named Vitamin ) C . But it can make runny stolls , so take only 50 mg at a time . ------------------------- There is no scientific evidense to support antioxidants . Your body does oxidation and antioxidation at millions of appropriate places and it DOES NOT want you to antioxidize anything . Instead , use common sense , eat what tastes good but in moderation . Do not take excess trace elements , they will kill you . Such as iron . It accumulates in liver and can't be removed except by a mortician . You must take iron ONLY after you have studied your problem with the aide of other experts . If they have medical lic' from the gov't , they will not help . They are unethical . Ethical physicians dont think profit when thinking therapy . In a successful society , they are "hobbiests" , they learn as a hobby . And they only offer advice to the rich , as it should be in a successful soc' , Offering tips to poor is unethical , it only does a "Mutha Teresa" on the world population . _______________________ James Goforth wrote: > Orange juice versus grape juice...which is better for you? > O J is generally considered an excellent source of vitamin C, but I > would expect grape juice (the purple stuff) to have plenty of C as well, > plus it is extolled as having a high amount of anti-oxidants. > There isn't really room in the fridge for a large container of each. > So if you could only drink one or the other, regardless of which you > liked better...which would you pick? |

Years and years ago I used to buy blueberry juice from Trader Joe's in California and I found that to be one of the few my stomach would deal with. Dang, I miss it! kili |
