I know I used to make chocolates all the time. Baked cookies and breads all
the time. Even made donuts on occasion. And almost always they were outstanding. But I seem to have lost my touch. Or maybe it's just because of our food allergies and what I am limited to using. But the stuff doesn't work! Last night we made the Alaskan Snowballs. They look like frozen meatballs. They are waaaaay too sweet and far too sticky. Tried the Persian cookies tonight. Although the end result tastes good, they aren't very pretty and they didn't work at all like the recipe said. Far from being what I would call a short dough. It made a very sticky, soft dough. Then I realized I bought too much powdered sugar. So tried Paula Deen's fudge recipe. That came out soupy. So I kept adding more and more powdered sugar. I think it finally came out okay. So now I've made all this stuff I can't eat. The kitchen is a disaster and I feel like I have sugar seeping from my pores. Yick! |
