I was bad and now I'm paying for it!
I have some Barry Callebaut chocolate chunks (meant for baking) that I got
for Angela. She doesn't like them because they are very bitter. She will eat them in the granola bars I got for her, but not by themselves. I had a craving for chocolate and decided to have some. Had another hypo last night even though the dinner I had (we ate out) seemed a bit larger than usual. So I figured a few bites of chocolate between dinner and bedtime insulin wouldn't hurt. But it is affecting my GERD. Owie! It was good though! |

Chocolate is known to cause the esophagus to relax or something and it allows stomach acid to come up. Bad. Really bad. |

My hubby, who isn't diabetic, can't have chocolate in any form after early afternoon. GERD so bad he can blow flames. -ginny |
