Default Fish dinner.

Jun sauteed a half dozen whole shishamo (smelt) and served them on a thick
bed of Romaine lettuce with a mayonnaise dressing. Before eating BG 86. One
hour PP BG 97.

That's the way these were. She said she didn't cook them over high heat, to
avoid roe splatter!

Memories! Back in the day, when the smelt were running we used to go
to Martin's Beach down the Peninsula from San Francisco. My husband's
father had handmade nets he brought from the old country and the guys
would wade out in the surf and haul in bucket loads. Folks would set
up charcoal fires and cook them right on the beach. And the gulls and
other seabirds made a feast too.
