Default Cookware feedback please

A little after the fact but...

I have just learned about the hazard of Teflon WRT birds. I have always
just had your cheapie basic non-stick cookware from the discount store
and it is trashed. For that reason and because I do have a bird, I felt
it necessary to replace my old cookware ASAP. I have chosen to switch to
stainless as it seems to be the most versatile and there is not an issue
when you are cooking acidic foods.

There is the (big) issue of money and I had to break out the credit card
in order to do this, so I had to be very careful as to what I was going
to spend. I chose the most inexpensive K-Mart Martha Stewart Everyday 7
piece set (18/10 w/stainless-aluminum disk bottom) and added a 1 qt pan
and an extra 10 in skillet from the open stock which are made the same
way as the set. I still needed a Dutch oven style pan, which they didn't
have, and found a Calphalon tri-ply 5 qt saucier at a good discount
elsewhere that is just right. This replicates exactly the sizes and
number of pans I had in my old set and I know I will use them all. I
also like the fact that they all have a lifetime warranty and with
proper care hopefully won't need to be replaced.
Did I make a good choice? Thanks for any comments. :-)

"Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one
elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and

providence moves too. A whole stream of events issues from the decision,

material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his
way."
